The Mawei Shipyard is located in the Fuzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone on the lower reaches of the Minjiang River. It covers an area of 334,000 square meters and currently has 1,765 employees, including 282 engineering and technical personnel. There are one 35,000-ton, 15,000-ton and 3,000-ton shipyards, one 20,000-ton dry dock, an outfitting dock of 345m, a total of 8 15-100-ton overhead cranes, a 200-ton portal crane, and a CNC cutting machine 4 Taiwan, 1 rib cold bending machine, 1446 various equipment.

Starting with the first construction of a 5,000-ton freighter in the early 1980s, and by the mass production of multi-purpose container freighters in line with European standards in the 1990s and entering the international market, the factory has continuously climbed to a new level, winning the best development in history. At present, Mawei Shipyard has the capacity to design, build and repair various types of ships below 35,000 tons, becoming an important ship production base in southern China.
